Vulnerability in Linux kernel (CVE-2025-22060)
Summary
Vulnerability in Linux kernel (CVE-2025-22060). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Exploitable via rx_classifier_drops.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: mvpp2: Prevent parser TCAM memory corruption
Protect the parser TCAM/SRAM memory, and the cached (shadow) SRAM
information, from concurrent modifications.
Both the TCAM and SRAM tables are indirectly accessed by configuring
an index register that selects the row to read or write to. This means
that operations must be atomic in order to, e.g., avoid spreading
writes across multiple rows. Since the shadow SRAM array is used to
find free rows in the hardware table, it must also be protected in
order to avoid TOCTOU errors where multiple cores allocate the same
row.
This issue was detected in a situation where mvpp2_set_rx_mode() ran
concurrently on two CPUs. In this particular case the
MVPP2_PE_MAC_UC_PROMISCUOUS entry was corrupted, causing the
classifier unit to drop all incoming unicast - indicated by the
rx_classifier_drops counter.

CVE-2025-22060 (Linux kernel) — CWE-367 / CVSS v3 4.7
Attack vector: local / no user interaction
Attack surface: rx_classifier_drops
Plan: 1) Audit SBOM/dependencies, 2) Stage→prod upgrade, 3) Add WAF/proxy monitoring on affected endpoints, 4) Hunt IOCs in logs.
Refs: see the GHSA / vendor advisory / patched release linked on this page.
A vulnerability (CWE-367) exists in Linux kernel. Attackers reach the vulnerable code path via rx_classifier_drops.
Check the vendor advisory for the affected versions of Linux kernel. Attack surface: rx_classifier_drops.
Severity: Medium (CVSS 4.7/10). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Update to the patched release per vendor advisory.
Until the patch is applied: disable the affected feature, apply WAF rules, or restrict access via network ACLs.
Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual request patterns matching this CVE's known IOCs. Audit SBOM/dependencies to find affected services.
Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
Audit SBOM/dependencies for affected components.資産台帳・SBOM・依存マニフェストで Linux kernel を使っているサービスとバージョンを洗い出す。
-
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
