Vulnerability in Coolify (CVE-2026-34198)

Summary

Vulnerability in Coolify (CVE-2026-34198). Data can be tampered with by attackers. Exploitable via Host header.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

Coolify is an open-source and self-hostable tool for managing servers, applications, and databases. Prior to 4.0.0-beta.471, the TrustProxies middleware trusts all proxies ($proxies = '*'), accepting X-Forwarded-Host from any source. The TrustHosts middleware, intended to prevent host header attacks, has a circular caching dependency that prevents it from ever validating hosts. When a password reset is requested, the ResetPassword notification generates the reset URL using url(route(..., false)), which derives the host from the (spoofable) request. An unauthenticated attacker can trigger a password reset email containing a link pointing to an attacker-controlled domain, enabling token theft and account takeover. This issue is fixed in version 4.0.0-beta.471.

❓ What is the problem

A vulnerability (CWE-346) exists in Coolify. Attackers reach the vulnerable code path via Host header without authentication.

📍 Affected scope

Check the vendor advisory for the affected versions of Coolify. Attack surface: Host header.

🔥 Severity

Severity: Medium (CVSS 5.3/10). Data can be tampered with by attackers.

🔧 How to fix

Update to the patched release per vendor advisory.

🛡️ Workaround

Until the patch is applied: disable the affected feature, apply WAF rules, or restrict access via network ACLs.

🔍 Detection

Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual request patterns matching this CVE's known IOCs. Run grep -r 'Coolify' . against your dependency files (package-lock.json, requirements.txt, go.sum) to find affected services.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'Coolify' . | grep -v node_modules

    リポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で Coolify を grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
