CVE-2026-43875 medium CVSS 6.8

Vulnerability in wwbn/avideo (CVE-2026-43875)

Summary

Vulnerability in wwbn/avideo (CVE-2026-43875). Confidential information can be exposed externally. Exploitable via GET /plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

Summary

plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php completes an OAuth login by sending an HTTP 302 Location: oauth2Success.php?user=&pass= where `` is the victim's stored password hash (md5(hash("whirlpool", sha1(password)))) read directly from the users table. AVideo's own login endpoint (objects/login.json.php) accepts an encodedPass=1 flag that bypasses hashing and performs a direct string comparison between the supplied value and the stored hash. Anyone who captures the redirect URL — via server logs, referrer leakage, or browser history — therefore obtains a credential equivalent to the plaintext password and can fully take over the account, including admin accounts.

Details

Sink: hash inlined in a GET redirect

plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php:98-102:

$pass = rand();
$users_id = User::createUserIfNotExists($user, $pass, $name, $email, $photoURL);
$adapter->disconnect();
$userObject = new User($users_id);
header("Location: oauth2Success.php?user=" . $userObject->getUser() . "&pass=" . $userObject->getPassword());

$userObject->getPassword() returns the raw database column (objects/user.php:159-162):

public function getPassword()
{
    return strip_tags($this->password);
}

The returned value is the stored password hash for the account (existing or freshly-created). It is transported to the browser as a query-string parameter in the Location: header, so it is written to:

🔍 Detection

Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual GET /plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php requests with malformed payloads or SQL meta-characters. Run grep -r 'wwbn/avideo' . against your dependency files (package-lock.json, requirements.txt, go.sum) to find affected services.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'wwbn/avideo' . | grep -v node_modules

    リポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で wwbn/avideo を grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。

  2. 2
    Hunt for indicators of compromise detect
    grep 'GET /plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php' /var/log/nginx/access.log | grep -E '(unusual_payload|sqli_pattern)'

    アクセスログで GET /plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php への異常なリクエスト (不正な認証ヘッダ・SQLメタ文字)を過去 30〜90日分捜索。WAF/SIEM があれば該当パスのアラート発火履歴を確認。

  3. 3
    Post-deployment verification verify
    Replay attack against GET /plugin/MobileManager/oauth2.php on staging to confirm patch closes the vector

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番では Step 2 と同じログクエリでアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
