Summary
Vulnerability reported (CVE-2026-45382). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Exploitable via set_derived_values.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
libde265 is an open source implementation of the h.265 video codec. Prior to version 1.0.19, decoder_context::decode_slice_unit_tiles (libde265/decctx.cc:920) reads pps.CtbAddrRStoTS[ctbAddrRS] at line 966 where ctbAddrRS = ctbY * ctbsWidth + ctbX is computed from PPS-supplied colBd[]/rowBd[] arrays without validating the result against CtbAddrRStoTS.size() == sps->PicSizeInCtbsY. A malformed PPS that passes set_derived_values but encodes geometry inconsistent with the SPS produces a ctbAddrRS past the allocation, causing a 4-byte heap-buffer-overflow READ. Version 1.0.19 fixes the issue.

CVE-2026-45382 — CWE-125
Attack surface: set_derived_values / ctbAddrRS
Plan: 1) Audit SBOM/dependencies, 2) Stage→prod upgrade, 3) Add WAF/proxy monitoring on affected endpoints, 4) Hunt IOCs in logs.
Refs: see the GHSA / vendor advisory / patched release linked on this page.
Out-of-bounds read (CWE-125) has been reported. Attackers reach the vulnerable code path via set_derived_values.
Check the vendor advisory for the affected versions. Attack surface: set_derived_values / ctbAddrRS.
Severity: ?. Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Update to the patched release per vendor advisory.
Until the patch is applied: disable the affected feature, apply WAF rules, or restrict access via network ACLs.
Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual request patterns matching this CVE's known IOCs. Audit SBOM/dependencies to find affected services.
