CVE-2026-63792 medium CVSS 5.3

Vulnerability in Gitea (CVE-2026-63792)

Summary

Vulnerability in Gitea (CVE-2026-63792). Confidential information can be exposed externally.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

Gitea's collaborative-owner authorization path for reading cross-repository reusable workflows does not exclude fork pull request runs. An approved fork workflow targeting a private repository can read workflow files from another private repository that trusts the base repository's owner through collaborative-owner configuration. The issue exposes private reusable workflow contents at caller-selected Git refs; it does not itself grant write access or code execution in the other repository.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'Gitea' . | grep -v node_modules

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production
