Vulnerability in Elastic Kibana (CVE-2026-72629)
Summary
Vulnerability in Elastic Kibana (CVE-2026-72629). Confidential information can be exposed externally.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
Authorization Bypass Through User-Controlled Key (CWE-639) in Kibana can lead to unauthorized cross-space access via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). The result is disclosure of inference output from a trained model in a different space that the user is not authorized to list, read, or use, which exposes the behavior of a model. The same pattern also reached the deployment stop and deployment update operations, allowing an active trained model deployment in another space to be stopped or to have its allocated resources altered.

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Kibana' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
Kibanaを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
