Path Traversal in NitroSense (CVE-2026-9489)
Summary
Path traversal in NitroSense (CVE-2026-9489). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
NitroSense 3.x before 3.01.3052 contains Local Privilege Escalation (LPE) vulnerability. The program exposes a Windows Named Pipe that uses a custom protocol to invoke internal functions. However, this Named Pipe is misconfigured, allowing any authenticated local user to execute arbitrary code with NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM privileges and to delete arbitrary files with SYSTEM privileges. By leveraging this, an attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'NitroSense' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
NitroSenseを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
