Code Injection in Zen Cart (CVE-2017-11675)

Summary

Code injection in Zen Cart (CVE-2017-11675). Successful exploitation can lead to full system takeover.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

The traverseStrictSanitize function in admin_dir/includes/classes/AdminRequestSanitizer.php in ZenCart 1.5.5e mishandles key strings, which allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code by placing that code into an invalid array index of the admin_name array parameter to admin_dir/login.php, if there is an export of an error-log entry for that invalid array index.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    Audit SBOM/dependencies for affected components.

    資産台帳・SBOM・依存マニフェストで Zen Cart を使っているサービスとバージョンを洗い出す。

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
