Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2022-50271)
Summary
Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2022-50271). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Mitigation: upgrade to 4.14.296, 4.19.262, 5.4.220, 5.10.150, 5.15.75, 5.19.17, 6.0.3 or later.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vhost/vsock: Use kvmalloc/kvfree for larger packets.
When copying a large file over sftp over vsock, data size is usually 32kB,
and kmalloc seems to fail to try to allocate 32 32kB regions.
vhost-5837: page allocation failure: order:4, mode:0x24040c0

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Kernel' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
2Apply patch patch
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
