Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2024-26638)
Summary
Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2024-26638). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Mitigation: upgrade to 6.1.76, 6.6.15, 6.7.3 or later.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nbd: always initialize struct msghdr completely
syzbot complains that msg->msg_get_inq value can be uninitialized [1]
struct msghdr got many new fields recently, we should always make
sure their values is zero by default.

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Kernel' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
2Apply patch patch
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
