Summary
Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2024-44982). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Mitigation: upgrade to 5.15.166, 6.1.107, 6.6.48, 6.10.7 or later.
Original description

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/msm/dpu: cleanup FB if dpu_format_populate_layout fails
If the dpu_format_populate_layout() fails, then FB is prepared, but not
cleaned up. This ends up leaking the pin_count on the GEM object and
causes a splat during DRM file closure:
msm_obj->pin_count

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Kernel' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
2Apply patch patch
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
