Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2024-57992)
Summary
Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2024-57992). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Mitigation: upgrade to 6.13.2 or later.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: wilc1000: unregister wiphy only if it has been registered
There is a specific error path in probe functions in wilc drivers (both
sdio and spi) which can lead to kernel panic, as this one for example
when using SPI:
Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 9f000000 when read
[9f000000] *pgd=00000000

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Kernel' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
2Apply patch patch
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
