Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2025-38337)
Summary
Vulnerability in Kernel (CVE-2025-38337). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Mitigation: upgrade to 5.4.295, 5.10.239, 5.15.186, 6.1.142, 6.6.95, 6.12.35, 6.15.4 or later.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
jbd2: fix data-race and null-ptr-deref in jbd2_journal_dirty_metadata()
Since handle->h_transaction may be a NULL pointer, so we should change it
to call is_handle_aborted(handle) first before dereferencing it.
And the following data-race was reported in my fuzzer:

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Kernel' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
2Apply patch patch
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
