CVE-2026-102242

Path Traversal in Google MCP (CVE-2026-102242)

Summary

Path traversal in Google MCP (CVE-2026-102242). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

Improper link resolution (CWE-59 / CWE-22) in the allowedLocalRoots path validation in Google MCP Toolbox for Databases versions 1.2.0 through 1.9.0 allows a remote authenticated attacker with tool execution permissions to bypass directory boundary restrictions via symbolic links. Because path validation checks directories lexically without resolving symbolic links first, an attacker can access or overwrite arbitrary local files located outside the permitted root directories.

    Audit SBOM/dependencies for affected components.

    資産台帳・SBOM・依存マニフェストで Google MCP を使っているサービスとバージョンを洗い出す。

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
