CVE-2026-103930 low CVSS 3.7

Vulnerability in cpp-httplib (CVE-2026-103930)

Summary

Vulnerability in cpp-httplib (CVE-2026-103930). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

cpp-httplib is a C++ header-only HTTP/HTTPS library. From 0.29.0 until 0.51.0, Client::open_stream in httplib.h accepts a caller-controlled path that reaches detail::write_request_line() without the detail::encode_path() protection used by the ordinary buffered request path. Raw carriage-return and line-feed bytes in the path can therefore split the outbound HTTP/1.1 request line and inject attacker-shaped request metadata. Exploitation requires an embedding application to pass remote user input into the open_stream path and a backend or intermediary that interprets the injected bytes; the established impact is modification of backend-visible request data, not direct confidentiality or availability impact. This issue is fixed in version 0.51.0.

❓ What is the problem

A vulnerability (CWE-113) exists in cpp-httplib.

📍 Affected scope

Check the vendor advisory for the affected versions of cpp-httplib.

🔥 Severity

Severity: Low (CVSS 3.7/10). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.

🔧 How to fix

Update to the patched release per vendor advisory.

🛡️ Workaround

Until the patch is applied: disable the affected feature, apply WAF rules, or restrict access via network ACLs.

🔍 Detection

Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual request patterns matching this CVE's known IOCs. Run grep -r 'cpp-httplib' . against your dependency files (package-lock.json, requirements.txt, go.sum) to find affected services.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'cpp-httplib' . | grep -v node_modules

    リポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で cpp-httplib を grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
