OS Command Injection in Spotweb (CVE-2026-108546)
Summary
OS command injection in Spotweb (CVE-2026-108546). Successful exploitation can lead to full system takeover.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
Spotweb through 1.5.8 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in the runcommand NZB handler that allows remote attackers to execute commands by publishing spots with malicious titles. Attackers can post self-signed spots over Usenet with shell metacharacters in the title, which are substituted unescaped for $SPOTTITLE and passed to exec() when a user downloads the spot, running commands as the Spotweb PHP process.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Spotweb' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
Spotwebを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
