Unsafe Deserialization in Crawl4AI (CVE-2026-109237)

Summary

Vulnerability in Crawl4AI (CVE-2026-109237). Confidential information can be exposed externally.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

Crawl4AI from 0.9.0 before 0.9.4 contains an untrusted-config gate bypass that allows non-admin API clients to construct forbidden config objects by wrapping them in dict-type wrappers. Attackers can send a laundered LLMConfig with api_token set to an env reference via /config/dump to read SECRET_KEY and provider keys, enabling admin JWT forgery.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'Crawl4AI' . | grep -v node_modules

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production
