Vulnerability in 3proxy (CVE-2026-109438)
Summary
Vulnerability in 3proxy (CVE-2026-109438). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
3proxy from 0.9.7 through 1.0.1, fixed in commit 206c923, contains an uninitialized stack memory disclosure vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to leak stack bytes via the SOCKS4 reply path when the external-NAT option (-Ne) is configured. Attackers can send a client probe that fails the SOCKS version check to trigger a reply containing uninitialized bytes from the sin structure, exposing high bytes of a userspace pointer that weakens ASLR protections.

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r '3proxy' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
3proxyを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
