Out-of-Bounds Read in zziplib (CVE-2026-111141)
Summary
Vulnerability in zziplib (CVE-2026-111141). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
zziplib through 0.13.80 contains an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in __zzip_parse_root_directory() in zzip/zip.c that allows attackers to read past the mapped central directory in mmap builds due to an ineffective bounds check. Attackers can supply a crafted ZIP whose entry name ends at the central directory end, triggering 28-byte ZIP64 extra field over-reads via zzip_dir_open() that crash the process.

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'zziplib' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
zziplibを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
