Summary
Vulnerability in cryptodev-linux (CVE-2026-28529). Successful exploitation can lead to full system takeover.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
cryptodev-linux version 1.14 and prior contain a page reference handling flaw in the get_userbuf function of the /dev/crypto device driver that allows local users to trigger use-after-free conditions. Attackers with access to the /dev/crypto interface can repeatedly decrement reference counts of controlled pages to achieve local privilege escalation.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'cryptodev-linux' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
cryptodev-linuxを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
