Vulnerability in @fastify/middie (CVE-2026-2880)

Summary

Vulnerability in @fastify/middie (CVE-2026-2880). Confidential information can be exposed externally.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

A vulnerability in @fastify/middie versions < 9.2.0 can result in authentication/authorization bypass when using path-scoped middleware (for example, app.use('/secret', auth)).

When Fastify router normalization options are enabled (such as ignoreDuplicateSlashes, useSemicolonDelimiter, and related trailing-slash behavior), crafted request paths may bypass middleware checks while still being routed to protected handlers.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r '@fastify/middie' . | grep -v node_modules

    リポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で @fastify/middie を grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
