Vulnerability in OP-TEE (CVE-2026-33662)
Summary
Vulnerability in OP-TEE (CVE-2026-33662). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
OP-TEE is a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) designed as companion to a non-secure Linux kernel running on Arm; Cortex-A cores using the TrustZone technology. From 3.8.0 to 4.10, in the function emsa_pkcs1_v1_5_encode() in core/drivers/crypto/crypto_api/acipher/rsassa.c, the amount of padding needed, "PS size", is calculated by subtracting the size of the digest and other fields required for the EMA-PKCS1-v1_5 encoding from the size of the modulus of the key. By selecting a small enough modulus, this subtraction can overflow. The padding is added as a string of 0xFF bytes with a call to memset(), and an underflowed integer will cause the memset() call to overwrite until OP-TEE crashes. This only affects platforms registering RSA acceleration.

CVE-2026-33662 (OP-TEE) — CWE-190 / CVSS v3 7.5
Attack vector: remote (network-reachable) / unauthenticated / no user interaction
Plan: 1) Audit SBOM/dependencies, 2) Stage→prod upgrade, 3) Add WAF/proxy monitoring on affected endpoints, 4) Hunt IOCs in logs.
Refs: see the GHSA / vendor advisory / patched release linked on this page.
A vulnerability (CWE-190) exists in OP-TEE.
Check the vendor advisory for the affected versions of OP-TEE.
Severity: High (CVSS 7.5/10). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Update to the patched release per vendor advisory.
Until the patch is applied: disable the affected feature, apply WAF rules, or restrict access via network ACLs.
Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual request patterns matching this CVE's known IOCs. Run grep -r 'OP-TEE' . against your dependency files (package-lock.json, requirements.txt, go.sum) to find affected services.
Response actions

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'OP-TEE' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
OP-TEEを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
