Path Traversal in SillyTavern (CVE-2026-34523)
Summary
Path traversal in SillyTavern (CVE-2026-34523). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
SillyTavern is a locally installed user interface that allows users to interact with text generation large language models, image generation engines, and text-to-speech voice models. Prior to version 1.17.0, a path traversal vulnerability in the static file route handler allows any unauthenticated user to determine whether files exist anywhere on the server's filesystem. by sending percent-encoded "../" sequences (%2E%2E%2F) in requests to static file routes, an attacker can check for the existence of files. This issue has been patched in version 1.17.0.

Response actions
Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'SillyTavern' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
SillyTavernを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
