Information Disclosure in Vitejs (CVE-2026-39363)
Summary
Vulnerability in Vitejs (CVE-2026-39363). Confidential information can be exposed externally. Mitigation: upgrade to 6.4.2 or later.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
Vite is a frontend tooling framework for JavaScript. From 6.0.0 to before 6.4.2, 7.3.2, and 8.0.5, if it is possible to connect to the Vite dev server’s WebSocket without an Origin header, an attacker can invoke fetchModule via the custom WebSocket event vite:invoke and combine file://... with ?raw (or ?inline) to retrieve the contents of arbitrary files on the server as a JavaScript string (e.g., export default "..."). The access control enforced in the HTTP request path (such as server.fs.allow) is not applied to this WebSocket-based execution path. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.4.2, 7.3.2, and 8.0.5.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Vitejs' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
Vitejsを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Apply patch patch
Upgrade Vitejs to 6.4.2ステージング環境で 6.4.2 に上げて回帰テスト → 本番反映。回帰テストはアプリの主要ハッピーパスを含めること。
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
