Unsafe Deserialization in RELATE (CVE-2026-47161)
Summary
Vulnerability in RELATE (CVE-2026-47161). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
RELATE is a web-based courseware package. Prior to commit d66ba5659b459bf1ba56b7109b5f9ecf197cbefb, RELATE LMS configures its Celery workers to accept and deserialize untrusted 'pickle' data. An attacker who can reach the message broker can execute arbitrary commands on the host server. Combined with missing network isolation in the code execution sandbox, this allows an authenticated student to achieve full Remote Code Execution (RCE) on the host system. Commit d66ba5659b459bf1ba56b7109b5f9ecf197cbefb fixes the issue.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'RELATE' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
RELATEを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
