CVE-2026-48558 CISA KEV critical CVSS 10.0

[KEV] Vulnerability in SimpleHelp (CVE-2026-48558)

Summary

Vulnerability in SimpleHelp (CVE-2026-48558). Successful exploitation can lead to full system takeover. Listed in CISA KEV — actively exploited.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

SimpleHelp versions 5.5.15 and prior and 6.0 pre-release versions contain an authentication bypass vulnerability in the OIDC authentication flow. When OIDC authentication is configured, identity tokens submitted during login are accepted without verifying their cryptographic signature. In a vulnerable configuration, a remote, unauthenticated attacker can submit a forged token containing arbitrary identity claims to obtain a fully authenticated technician session. In some configurations, this may also allow bypass of multi-factor authentication. No user interaction is required.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'SimpleHelp' . | grep -v node_modules

  2. 2
    Consider incident declaration escalate
    Notify SOC / on-call

  3. 3
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production
