Code Injection in TuxGuitar (CVE-2026-55543)
Summary
Code injection in TuxGuitar (CVE-2026-55543). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
TuxGuitar is an open-source guitar tablature editor. Prior to 2.1.0, an untrusted .tg file can set gervil.soundbank.path to reference an on-disk archive, including the .tg file itself, whose META-INF/services/javax.sound.midi.Soundbank entry names an attacker-supplied class stored in that archive. When a user opens the file, JARSoundbankReader uses an unverified class loader to load and instantiate that class, executing its constructor with the privileges of the TuxGuitar process. This issue is fixed in version 2.1.0.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'TuxGuitar' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
TuxGuitarを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
