Authentication Bypass in Capgo (CVE-2026-56237)
Summary
Authentication bypass in Capgo (CVE-2026-56237). Confidential information can be exposed externally.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
Capgo before 12.128.2 contains a broken authentication vulnerability in its API key generation mechanism. API keys are exposed in frontend requests, and the backend fails to validate that keys are securely generated and bound to the authenticated user. An attacker can tamper with the API key parameter in the generation request and supply arbitrary values, generating custom API keys without proper authorization, which can lead to unauthorized access to protected endpoints.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'Capgo' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
Capgoを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
