Vulnerability in AWX (CVE-2026-75884)
Summary
Vulnerability in AWX (CVE-2026-75884). Successful exploitation can lead to full system takeover.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
A flaw was found in AWX. The container group pod_spec_override field uses an incomplete blocklist that only restricts automountServiceAccountToken, allowing injection of initContainers, serviceAccountName overrides, and projected service account token volumes. An AAP platform administrator can exploit this to escalate privileges to OpenShift namespace-level access and exfiltrate namespace secrets.

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'AWX' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
AWXを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
