Original description

The description as published by the source.

Quivr versions through 0.0.322 fail to validate chat ownership in the GET /chat/{chat_id}/history, DELETE /chat/{chat_id}, and POST /chat/{chat_id}/question/answer endpoints. Authenticated attackers can read other users' conversation histories including private knowledge base content, delete arbitrary chats, and inject fabricated messages into other users' conversations.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'Quivr' . | grep -v node_modules

  2. 2
Hunt for indicators of compromise detect
    grep 'GET /chat/{chat_id}/history' /var/log/nginx/access.log | grep -E '(unusual_payload|sqli_pattern)'

  3. 3
    Post-deployment verification verify
Replay attack against GET /chat/{chat_id}/history on staging to confirm patch closes the vector
