SQL Injection in SOGo (CVE-2026-8851)

Summary

SQL injection in SOGo (CVE-2026-8851). Confidential information can be exposed externally.

Original description

The description as published by the source.

SOGo versions 5.12.7 and prior contains a SQL injection vulnerability in the Access Control List management functionality that allows authenticated users to extract arbitrary data from the database by injecting SQL subqueries through the uid parameter of the addUserInAcls endpoint. Attackers can inject malicious SQL code to write extracted data into the sogo_acl table and retrieve it through the /acls API, establishing an out-of-band data exfiltration channel.

🔧 How to fix

Update to the patched release per vendor advisory.

🛡️ Workaround

Until the patch is applied: disable the affected feature, apply WAF rules, or restrict access via network ACLs.

🔍 Detection

Search webserver/proxy logs for unusual request patterns matching this CVE's known IOCs. Run grep -r 'SOGo' . against your dependency files (package-lock.json, requirements.txt, go.sum) to find affected services.

Response actions

Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order

  1. 1
    Identify exposure identify
    grep -r 'SOGo' . | grep -v node_modules

    リポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で SOGo を grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。

  2. 2
    Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in production

    パッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
