Original description
The description as published by the source.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/memfd_luo: fix physical address conversion in put_folios cleanup In memfd_luo_retrieve_folios()'s put_folios cleanup path: 1. kho_restore_folio() expects a phys_addr_t (physical address) but receives a raw PFN (pfolio->pfn). This causes kho_restore_page() to check the wrong physical address (pfn << PAGE_SHIFT instead of the actual physical address). 2. This loop lacks the !pfolio->pfn check that exists in the main retrieval loop and memfd_luo_discard_folios(), which could incorrectly process sparse file holes where pfn=0. Fix by converting PFN to physical address with PFN_PHYS() and adding the !pfolio->pfn check, matching the pattern used elsewhere in this file. Concrete steps and command examples for SOC/SRE teams to execute in order
-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'linux' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
linuxを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Apply patch patch
Upgrade linux to 7.0.4-1ステージング環境で 7.0.4-1 に上げて回帰テスト → 本番反映。回帰テストはアプリの主要ハッピーパスを含めること。
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
