Vulnerability in python-authlib (UBUNTU-CVE-2026-41479)
Summary
Vulnerability in python-authlib (UBUNTU-CVE-2026-41479). Risk of unauthorized operations or information disclosure. Mitigation: upgrade to 1.6.10 or later.
Original description
The description as published by the source.
Authlib is a Python library which builds OAuth and OpenID Connect servers. Prior to 1.6.10 and 1.7.1, Authlib's OAuth 2.0 authorization endpoint can be turned into an unauthenticated open redirect when a request uses an unsupported response_type and supplies an attacker-controlled redirect_uri. The vulnerable behavior happens before client lookup and before any redirect URI validation. As a result, an attacker does not need a valid client registration, an authenticated user, or any prior state. A single request to the authorization endpoint is enough to obtain a 302 Location response to an arbitrary attacker-controlled URL. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.6.10 and 1.7.1.

-
1Identify exposure identify
grep -r 'python-authlib' . | grep -v node_modulesリポジトリと本番環境の依存ファイル (package-lock.json / requirements.txt / go.sum / Gemfile.lock 等) で
python-authlibを grep し、稼働しているサービス・バージョンを把握する。 -
2Apply patch patch
Upgrade python-authlib to 1.6.10ステージング環境で 1.6.10 に上げて回帰テスト → 本番反映。回帰テストはアプリの主要ハッピーパスを含めること。
-
3Post-deployment verification verify
Confirm patched version is live in productionパッチ適用後、ステージングで PoC または同等の悪用パターンを再現して脆弱性が閉じたことを確認。本番ではアクセスログ・WAF でアラート再発が無いか継続監視。
